THIS year Waterstone College on Main Service Road in Kibler Park celebrates its 10th birthday.

SUCCESS: Waterstone College celebrates its 10th birthday.

In 2007 Waterstone College was established with 120 learners and only ten staff members. By 2014 the school proved to be one of the fastest growing schools in Gauteng and was bought by Curro Holdings. In 2015 the school had over 1 300 learners and 120 permanent staff members.

Last year the school opened its Castle doors for the little ones and now the school educates 1 900 learners across the board.

HAPPY: Pupils and parents all gathered for the assembly celebration at Waterstone College.

Mr Vernon Rorich, the executive head of Waterstone College, spoke at the assembly and shared many sentiments. Part of his speech included some verses from the school song which read: “Our faith in God is paramount, our hope in Christ is shown, and so we urge to do our best, Carpe Diem Waterstone. Wherever we go in years to come, whatever our task may be, we’ll think upon its heritage, the FIRE within me.”

The assembly began with a welcome from Melanie Meyer and was followed by an item by the marimba band. The high school head boy shared a Bible reading and the head girl prayed.

TALENTED: The school band played a few songs at the birthday celebration.

Debra Hall, who is the head of the primary school, delivered a message and thereafter the high school band rendered a few items. An awards ceremony was held where educators were acknowledged for ten years of uninterrupted service, as well as the learners who have been part of the college since its inception.

EXCELLENCE: Waterstone College strives for excellence.
