A DOMESTIC Watch Crime Prevention meeting took place on September 12, at the Sasol Garage, Columbine Avenue, Suideroord, informing domestic workers about protecting their ID, passport, bank card and phones.

Michael Bailey from SOS ProtecSure spoke about Cyber Crime and explained how important it is to not become a victim.

Michelle Pelser (Mondeor Sector One CPF) once again emphasised the dangers of letting strangers on to properties, no matter what the person wants or who they say he/she is. “Domestics are being targeted by criminals pretending to want to do maintenance on the property. Never open up, phone your employer and check first. Take note if the dogs bark and keep doors locked at all times,” she said.

Captain Nokulunga Dube and Captain Ida (Mondeor SAPS) came to the meeting and spoke to the domestics about the importance of not sharing their employers’ information, no matter who the person is.

“Thanks to Sasol garage for allowing us to hold our meetings here, to Mondeor Primary School for their driver to transport the domestics and to Joy Boswell for all your help in assisting me,” added Michelle.
