CPF patrollers honoured

THE Glenanda North Residents Association (GNRA) executive committee held its first awards ceremony for its community policing forum (CPF) patrollers.

Moffat View Sector Two and Glenanda North patrollers were honoured at the awards held on Friday, November 3, at the St Francis of Assisi Anglican Church in Meyersdal, Alberton.

GNRA chairman Segie Pillay thanked the sponsors of the GNRA, executives, members and the CPF teams and their families.

“The GNRA was only established at the beginning of this year and the teams have come far in assisting with traffic control and combating drugs in the area. We focused on addressing infrastructure, service delivery, land and security issues in the community. We represent the community and stand as an independent organisation,” said Pillay.

Capt Joseph Makubela from the Moffat View SAPS thanked the GNRA for its support on behalf of the station commander.

“We are glad to see the reduced crime in the Glenanda North area. The station looks forward to working with the GNRA to make this sector even better,” said Makhubela.

BEAUTIFUL: The table set up with the certificates, cakes and gifts.

CPF and GNRA members and patrollers were awarded two certificates on behalf of both the CPF and the GNRA.

Members and their families came together in fellowship around a table and enjoyed a meal, some wine and dessert.
