Moffat View successes

OVER the week of October 31 to November 7 Moffat View SAPS arrested 26 suspects for various crimes: assault common – seven, assault common under domestic violence – two, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) – five, contravention of second-hand goods act – two, possession of drugs – one, malicious damage to property – three, shoplifting – four and theft – two.

Cancer awareness day

Moffat View SAPS Women’s Network and Social Crime Unit held a cancer awareness campaign at the police station on October 31. Community members were also invited. The purpose of the event was to educate the SAPS members and community members about cancer. Sister Evodia Barry from South Hills Clinic encouraged members to get tested for cancer.

One suspect arrested for possession of stolen goods

On November 8, cases of house break-in and theft were opened at Moffat View SAPS. One of the houses was broken into in Regents Park, Majorie Street. The lady who opened the case got information from the neighbours that the people who stole her goods were going to sell it at a scrapyard. She phoned the police and one of the suspects was arrested on the spot and another suspect ran away. A deep fryer and two plate gas cylinders were recovered.
