A LANKY lass from Meredale, Lethibe Odgah Mokgwadi (17), is one of the 24 semi-finalists of Miss High School SA 2018.
Miss High School is aimed at identifying bright, young individuals who will be ambassadors to represent High School students in South Africa, in various initiatives, with the main one being to support the Girl Power Foundation (www.girlpowerfoundation.co.za) – the pageant has over the years seen the rise of some of the finest young girls in the country.
The objective of the pageant is to empower young girls through education, participating in charity work, therefore, building social awareness and responsibility among them. This will also build confidence and leadership skills. The winning young girls will also become role models in their schools, communities, other schools and to young children across the country.
This year there are 24 semi-finalists selected out of hundreds of entries, from across the country. Each semi-finalist is required to raise R2 000 towards the pageant and The Girl Power Foundation, either by getting sponsorship or through fund-raising initiatives.
The pageant is organised and hosted by GEES! Entertainment and the final will be held later in the year in Johannesburg.
